Oronde Anthony Smith, MD

 

Oronde Smith is a board certified emergency physician.   He graduated from NYU School of Medicine, and successfully completed the NYU/Bellevue Hospital emergency medicine residency program. 

 

He has served as the medical director of Emergency Medical Services at Bronx Lebanon Hospital, where he helped establish a viable and thriving ambulance service providing pre-hospital care to the population of the South Bronx.  He also helped devise city, state, and regional responses to potential natural and manmade disasters in conjunction with the Greater New York Hospital Association after the attacks of September 11, 2001.

 

He has served as the Assistant Director of the Emergency Department for the Altoona Regional Health System in Pennsylvania, and he also served as the physician manager for a medical staffing company where he managed over 25 physicians that worked under him at hospitals in Ft. Knox, Kentucky and Ft. Belvoir, Virginia. 

 

Dr. Smith has served as the Chairman of the Emergency Department at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center in Fredericksburg Virginia, and Parkland Medical Center in Derry, New Hampshire.  He has served as the Director of Health Care Services for Wisestaff  - a national healthcare staffing company.
